With all the tornado's we've had this spring I must say that I don't blame "Man's Best Friend" from being scared ! My Pug at the first sound of rumbling thunder freezes like a bird dog and listens for the next run of noise.Then "here we go" BARK... BARK...until the storm goes on thru town. Here's a great article on just that subject ! Your concerns are well founded. I personally think it depends on 2 things...the breed and the way the dog has been treated. I've seen many large bred dogs to be very protective of the baby...but each case is different and must be watched carefully. My daughter's dog loves the babies feeding time...he patientally waits for spills and food flying over board on the floor !! Brinkley, is a " Swiffer"! Things just have a way of working out...but any agressive behavior ...the dog would need to be given to some family member with no small children.
